People close to me know I love avocados. I tend to hype them up as a great weight loss tool and healthy addition to your diet.
I realized through eating avacodo that calorie counting was not everything. While tracking my intake, I had decided to have a cheat day by eating an entire bowl of quacomole. My calories were well over my limit and I anticipated regretting it. To my surprise I lost a half a pound on the scale the next morning.
I continue to use avacado and quacomole when I want to eat a bit more. In addition I learned that healthy fats are a useful tool in appeasing my snacking appetite.
I have had the most success in weight loss following 3 different rules
- Drink plenty of water
- Exercise
- Eat healthy fats and protein
This does not mean of course that I eat everything I want in addition to healthy fats. As long as I am able to establish a healthy routine while drinking plenty of water, being active then translates into weight loss for me.
I like to begin the day with eggs and another high protein food. I use Greek yogurt, Chia seeds, Quinoa, and other nonprocessed foods for breakfast.
During the day I have coffee and Tea while snacking on pistachios, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts.
I’ve noticed when I start the day with high protein, followed by healthy fats and water, my appetite is smaller at mealtimes and can resist eating larger meals.
Let me know your experience with healthy fats. What strategies do you use? Which foods work the best for you?
